A highly emotional drama, Speaking in Tongues is also a mystery tale—and the increasingly tangled web of deceit and lies twists in unexpected ways.
“Speaking in Tongues is about the right and the wrong of emotional conduct. It is a story about contracts being broken between intimates while deep bonds are forged between strangers.” Andrew Bovell. This play won the 1997 AWGIE for Best New Play. Bovell adapted his play for the screen. The 2001 film Lantana won seven AFI Awards.
