BEDROOM FARCE | PRODUCTION

Paul Jackson • Stage Manager

Although he was given a starring role in his year 6 French class drama production where he rescued the princess with a magic apple Paul did not, in fact, continue with a career in the theatre. An aborted attempt at university proved to him there was no romance in accounting, so he ran away to sea to become a pirate. Unfortunately, the Canadian Coast Guard carries no cannons or cutlasses on their ships, so he quit in disgust and retired to a quiet shack to raise a family with his own Grace O’Malley. Since then, the theatre has gradually lured him back. He has been lurking in the dark at Rep for quite some time and Aarne has seen fit to trust him with the role of SM for Bedroom Farce, bullying the actors and yelling impotently into the ‘cans’ as the creatives continue to produce effervescent Art, despite his best efforts to stop them from having fun. Hope you enjoy the show!

Anne Gallen • Production Manager

Anne has been involved in most aspects of live theatre over the years, initially performing in ballets, plays and musicals, and playing the flute in a Baroque Ensemble.  Anne joined Canberra REP in the late 70s and became involved in lighting design/operations and backstage, before her career took her away from Australia.  A couple of fond memories are of playing Prince Charming in the pantomime Cinderella with the Kuwait Players in the early 80s and playing the eccentric old Mrs Debenham in REP’s production of Rope in 2021. Anne is happy to be involved again in the production side of live theatre.  In addition to assisting with stage management, lighting, props and front-of-house, Anne has been the Production Manager for several of REP’s plays since 2021 and enjoys the opportunity this brings to see all the elements of a show evolve and come together.

Russell Brown OAM • Set Coordinator
Russell has been a member of REP for over 50 years, and in that time he has been involved in almost every aspect from President to performing, set design to set building, props making, furniture making, and tricky effects. With his dedicated team of builders and painters, he whiles away his time making magic for our audiences. He was recently named REP Living Treasure for his many contributions to the Society.

Elizabeth Goodbody • Front of House Coordinator
Elizabeth started her earliest career as a classical ballerina but went on to become involved in most aspects of theatre, both musical and non-musical, on- and off-stage, for over 20 years. She was out of the picture for over 25 years while on postings overseas, but returned to assist REP in various Front of House activities, including Front of House Coordinator, and a member of REP Council and other committee roles since 2019.
