CAST | A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2

Lainie Hart - Nora
“I believe that I am first and foremost a human being, like you – or anyway, that I must try to become one.” (Ibsen, A Doll’s House). It has been a dream of Lainie’s to play Nora since the age of 18, and she is very grateful to Joel and REP for this opportunity. Lainie had a marvellous time earlier this year playing Lady M in Lakespeare’s Macbeth. In 2024, she frolicked in Echo Theatre’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed Away for REP, and performed in Echo Theatre’s Bombshells. Prior to that she appeared in Echo Theatre’s King Lear, and The Street Theatre’s production of This Rough Magic. Other credits include Chaika Theatre’s productions of The Children and Three Tall Women, Everyman’s The Importance of Being Earnest, and Free Rain’s Steel Magnolias, as well as Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead for REP. She spent 18 months completing further study and training in Melbourne, graduating from the full-time program at 16th Street Actor’s Studio, going on to perform in La Mama’s Survival, and touring Victoria with Pigeonhole theatre’s Playhouse Creatures. Lainie would like to dedicate this performance to all the women who, like Nora, are listening hard to hear their own voice.

Rhys Robinson - Torvald
Rhys completed a Bachelor of Performing Arts at the University of Western Sydney a.k.a. Theatre Nepean, in 2003.  He is a Melbourne based performer and production manager who over the past two decades has worked extensively in theatre, film and live events. In production, he's worked with Belvoir St Theatre Co., Sydney Theatre Co., State Theatre (Sydney) and most recently at the National Gallery of Victoria. As a performer, credits include The Inheritance, Henry V, Our Town, Breathing Corpses, Terrorism, Dial M for Murder and A Midsummer Night's Dream, to name but a few. Rhys is thrilled to be back on stage at REP for the second time, a mere twenty five years after the first time.

Elaine Noon – Anne Marie
2025 is proving to be a big year for Elaine on the REP stage. She’s just finished performing in Blithe Spirit as Madame Arcati and will soon be seen in Lizzy, Darcy and Jane. All this follows a wonderful 2024 when she performed as Vic and other characters in Away, and Mrs Gottlieb in Dead Man’s Cell Phone, both for REP. In 2023 she performed in Canberra Youth Theatre’s The Trials as Defendant 3. In 2022, Elaine played Jock MacDonald in The Torrents for Mill Theatre, Mrs Higgins in Tempo Theatre’s Pygmalion and Marge in Hotel Sorrento for REP. Prior to that, she played Penelope in The Penelopiad, a Crouching Giraffe production; Merridee in papermoon theatre’s production of Wicked Sisters and Helene in REP’s A Doll’s House. Elaine also performed in Trelawney of the Wells as Mrs Mossop; She Stoops to Conquer as Mrs Hardcastle; Ann Putman in The Crucible; Mrs Bradman in Blithe Spirit; Annie in Calendar Girls; Out of Order; Secret Bridesmaid’s Business; Lost in Yonkers and It Runs in the Family for REP. Elaine is also a regular voice actor on ArtSound Radio Theatre.

Anna Lorenz - Emmy
Anna has been involved in theatre for the past 3 years. Anna is originally from the USA and she found her passion for acting in Germany, appearing on stage in: Demut vor deinen Taten, Baby (Betty), Tartuffe (Dorine) and more. Anna is a Year 12 student at Dickson College, where she is currently studyinging a Double Major in Drama. Since being in Canberra Anna has been in shows such as: Love and Information, Afterlife (Beatrice), Danny and the Deep Blue Sea (Danny) and has also found a love for directing through her production of The Vagina Monologues. Anna is delighted to make her Canberra REP debut playing Emmy in A Doll's House, Part 2.
