Sydney 1897.  Government House. A nation of colonies is on the verge of federation.

The newly appointed Governor Mountgarrett is coming to grips with representing Her Majesty Queen Victoria. His family can barely leave the sanctuary of the House. Will the public become aware of their secrets and dysfunction? Beatrix Christian’s remarkable play explores what might have been not that long ago. No other Australian play has dealt with such a time and place. The ghosts of our colonial past cannot be forgotten. Vice-Regal secrets warrant attention at any time, even fictional ones.

An Amateur performance by Arrangement with Shanahan Management Pty Ltd.
