A note from Rob, the key convenor and director of the 'logues.
Starting at the start, thanks to the writers who responded to the call for material. Some of you are still working on how to turn a good set of words into an effective bit of theatre, and providing that learning space is one of the big aims of The 'Logues. And without your submissions, we don't have any kind of event. Appreciation too for the critique sessions at the heats. The willingness for discussion and polite disagreement is exactly what that is all about. The more voices the writer hears, the more representative it is of how that bit of writing would be accepted in the wider world.
Thanks to the readers; those who turned up at the heats to have a bit of a performance fix. Until you have to receive a script, look at it for 30 minutes, then present it at a critique session which probably includes the writer, it's easy to underestimate the challenges. Big thanks to techs and Front of House people, who are willing to help fit this project in amongst other bigger productions - and to Ian Hart, as coordinator of REP Studio, who is saddled with a fair slice of the admin work.
